Do NOT book appointment for Polyclinic

There is no pediatic clinic on Saturday at the polyclinic near my house so we can only see the normal gp and anyway as mentioned before, I expect no answer from the doctor at this point. Important is to get the referral letter. Early morning, I made an appointment at 12pm online prior visiting the polyclinic and we arrives 15mins before the appointment time. Of cause I expect and understand that we will not be attend to at the actual appointment time. But who knows, we waited till 1pm and we are the last person in the clinic, everybody have gone (feeling WTF), we are the LAST.

While waiting for consultation, Bee gets cranky and cry loudly in the waiting hall. He's so loud that we have to carry him out of the place in order not to disturb the others and keep running back and forth to check the Q numbers. I remembered clearly that there were at least another 8-10 patients that came in for registration after us, but why are we the last one. I check with one of the staff on this but the auntie lady was rude and say just stick to my Q number, all are generated by system. I’m angered by her and asked to see the manager or person-in-charge.

A lady came out shortly and I asked her about their appointment system. I raised my unhappiness to her and request her for an explanation. She told us that their last appointment time is 12pm (the appt time tat I have booked), so any patients who walks-in before 12pm, they will get whatever empty slots before 12pm (eg 11.58, 11:59 etc), so meaning to say, whoever came in before 12pm will be infront of us no matter we register earlier than they or not.

I was so shocked and disappoint with their Q system, it is SO STUPID! I thought we have secured an appointment at 12pm, they will release a slot for us in between (near the appointment time), but I am WRONG. How can they release earlier slot to new walk-in patients who came in after us when they can’t even see patients who had appointment on time, then what's the point of booking appointment in the first place? The appointment system is totally useless so my advise to all who want to visit the polyclinic is, DO NOT USE/BOOK online appointment, it’s totally redundant and time wasting. It does not help in getting Q faster at all, walk-in is Q is faster.

Regarding the consultation (less than 5 mins), it is turn out to be what I have expected. The doctor (a very very young lady, fresh grad I guess) could not advise/comment anything on Bee’s symptoms. All we get is a referral letter to see the specialist.

I wrote in to the polyclinics to feedback about the Q priority for babies (follow the hospitals' A&E to give priority to youngest patients below 2yo) and please remove their redundant appointment system.
The reply I get from them is: they will review on it (full stop).

Could it be Congenital Clasped Thumb???

When Bee is at 4 months old, my mum (Bee's main caregiver when I'm at work) told me that Bee's left hand looks weird. When hearing this, I was angry (probably because a mum would not accept bad comments about their baby) and ask her for details.

Bee was always wearing mittens to prevent him from scratching himself (he scratched his face twice till it bleeds). Only recently he is older and has outgrown his mittens so we stop letting him to wear, to allow him to start learning to grab things

After monitoring closely on Bee left hand, we noticed that he never his left thumb at all while right thumb opens actively. So I quickly ask Mr Google (www.google.com) on related symptoms and the closest result I get is Congenital Clasped Thumb.

We tried to open up Bee's left thumb, he seems to have no pain nor uncomfortable when we opens up for him, but he could not maintain his thumb open by himself. His left thumb will immediately clasp up when we release it. We are worried but it is non life-threatening, therefore we waited to bring Bee to the polyclinic on sat for consultation. I guess they will not be able to diagnose or give answer about this immediately but probably refer us to the specialist clinic (at subsidies rate with their referral letter).
