Follow up on Bee’s Lazy Thumb (baby clapsed thumb) at KKH

This day, we arrived Clinic P few minutes before the appointment time. The waiting hall is crowded with young patients and parents. We expect the waiting time will be very long but our number was called 2 mins after registration (very surprised).

Dr Daryl Chew play with little Bee and take chance to touch and feel his left thumb. He said it is very flexible (we diligently exercise and massage for him for the past 1 month) and he is now able to open up slightly.

He wants us to be patience and continue stretch his thumb during each feeding and diaper changing. He said Bee will eventually open up on his own therefore no treatment nor splint for Bee, we just have to continue to help him stretch his ‘lazy thumb’. Dr Chew will see Bee again in 3 months time. It’s a very short (5-mins) consultation, cost $47 after subsidy (not including petrol and parking lol).

No treatment/therapy required, I guess this consider a good news :)
